Wounds Surgery
Plastic Surgery for professional wound care
Chronic wounds are defined as wounds which do not heal in the expected time frame for that type of wound. Treating complex and chronic wounds require knowledge and years of experience. Our surgeons specialize in the treatment of soft tissue defects. There are many reasons why a wound doesn’t heal: the causes may include infection, insufficient blood supply, or systemic illnesses such as diabetes or a combination. Successful treatment of difficult wounds requires assessment of the entire patient and not just the wound. After conducting a thorough, accurate evaluation of both the patient and the wound, we develop an appropriate therapy plan to restart the healing process. Many treatment options are available – from simple débridements to microvascular free flap transplantations.
We will gladly inform you personally of all therapy options available during our consultation hours.
