Cancer Surgery
Plastic Surgery for professional cancer treatment
Modern innovative therapies such as EmaCure® and Regentrix® have also proven very promising in wound healing. Cancer can be defined as cells or tissue, which grow and divide without control and spread into surrounding tissues. Most non-cancer tumors are benign, meaning they do not spread into or invade nearby tissues and do not infiltrate into lymphatic or blood vessels. Malign cancerous tumors, however, can spread into or invade nearby tissues and spread to other parts of the body via blood or lymphatic vessels. Before initiating surgical intervention there must be a thoroughly diagnostic process to rule out any malign cancers, which may have already spread to other parts of the body. Such an assessment will be coordinated with our in-house clinical tumor board.
Tumors can be distinguished into soft tissue tumors, which affect fat, muscles, vessels, nerves or connecting tissue, and tumors of the skin. Examples of malign skin tumors are basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and the malign melanoma. Therapy always depends on the size of the tumor, its stage and whether it is benign or malign.
